Batch Rename Files and Zip Them — Free, No Upload
How it works — 100% in your browser, no upload
Quick answer: drop your files, write a pattern such as
{name}-{n}, preview the new names, then download one ZIP. Everything is renamed and compressed on your device.Drop files here to rename
Renaming and zipping happen locally with JSZip.
Tokens: {name} {n} {index} {date} {ext}
How to batch rename files
- Add files. Drop any file types — images, PDFs, documents.
- Write a pattern. Combine tokens like {name}, {n}, {date} and {ext}.
- Check the preview. Every old and new name is listed before you commit.
- Download the ZIP. One archive with all the renamed files.
Frequently asked questions
Which tokens can I use in the pattern?
{name} is the original filename, {n} a padded sequence number, {index} the zero-based position, {date} today's date and {ext} the extension.
Are duplicate names handled?
Yes. If a pattern produces the same name twice, a numeric suffix is added so no file is overwritten.
Does the ZIP compress my files?
It uses standard deflate. Already-compressed files like JPG and MP4 barely shrink — use the compression tools for those.
