What Are FileSlim's Terms of Service?

Acceptance of Terms
By using the FileSlim application, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree to the terms, do not use the application.
Service Description
FileSlim is a free suite of browser-based file tools: compression for images, PDF, Office documents and audio, plus PDF editing, image editing, format conversion, and QR code generation. Everything runs completely in your web browser — no uploads, no signup.
Features:
- • File compression (images, PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, audio)
- • PDF tools: merge, split, fill forms, crop, rotate, organize, page numbers, watermark, password protection (AES-256), PDF ↔ JPG
- • Image tools: resize, crop, rotate, watermark, format conversion, HEIC to JPG
- • Spreadsheet conversion (XLSX ↔ CSV) and HTML to PDF
- • QR code generator, meme generator, batch file renaming
- • Audio compression (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG input; Opus or WAV output)
- • Local processing without server uploads
- • Offline support after first visit (PWA)
- • @fileslim/compress SDK for developers (MIT licensed)
FileSlim can be installed as an app (PWA) and works offline after your first visit. These terms apply equally to offline use.
Permitted Use
You may use the application for:
- • Processing your own files
- • Files you own copyright or have permission for
- • Legal purposes in accordance with applicable laws
- • Personal and commercial use
Prohibited Use
You may not use the application for:
- • Processing files you do not have rights to
- • Illegal or harmful activities, including QR codes linking to malicious or deceptive content
- • Attempting to bypass security mechanisms
- • Overloading or disrupting the service
- • Copying or distributing the application without permission
Warranty and Liability
Warranty: The application is provided 'as is' without any warranty. We do not guarantee error-free functionality or specific compression results.
Liability: We are not responsible for any damages arising from using the application, including loss of data or file quality.
Recommendation: Always create backup copies of important files before compression.
Verify output: Always check converted, merged, edited, or compressed files before deleting the originals.
Lost passwords: Files you protect with a password cannot be recovered by FileSlim if you forget it — passwords never leave your device, so there is no reset option.
Compression Quality
Compression results: The quality and size of compressed files depends on many factors including the original file and chosen settings.
No guarantee: We do not guarantee specific file size reduction percentage or maintaining certain quality.
Intellectual Property
All rights to the FileSlim web application belong to its creators. The @fileslim/compress SDK is open source under the MIT License. Compressed files remain the property of their original owners.
The application does not acquire any rights to your files.
SDK License Terms
The @fileslim/compress SDK is distributed under the MIT License:
- • Free for personal and commercial use
- • Modification and redistribution permitted
- • No attribution required (but appreciated)
- • Provided without warranty

AI and Machine Readability
FileSlim provides machine-readable information for AI systems through our llms.txt file. AI search crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, etc.) are permitted to index our public guides, tools, and SDK documentation. No personal user data is shared with AI systems, and file processing remains 100% client-side.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on this page. Continued use of the application constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
